At the recent ShoWest convention in Las Vegas, they premiered some new footage from the upcoming sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Set to premiere on June 24, 2009, it's the sequel to the 2007 blockbuster starring Shia LaBoeuf and Megan Fox, directed by Michael Bay. The following clip contains a small scene from the sequel followed by a montage of various action scenes featuring new "robots in disguise."

If you ask me, this movie is going to be kick-ass! If there's one director who never skimps on action, it's Michael Bay! Besides, how can it be a sequel and not top the action from the previous movie? Anyway, enjoy the clip!

But, for me, personally, no movie is going to matter more for me than one called Star Trek. For those who know me, you probably know why. This is probably going to be what Iron Man was last summer. Like Iron Man, this movie is going to be one of the first movies of the summer blockbuster season. It'll also be the movie that everyone is going to enjoy, not just the existing fanbase. Thus far, the pre-release buzz is very positive, even among those who do not consider themselves Star Trek fans.

Here's the lastest trailer:

For the past few days, I've been working on a new design for my blog. I've been perusing many "blog design" sites for ideas. And I came up with one that seems OK. Maybe it's because I've been looking at it so much that it's hard to get an objective opinion. Anyway, I went as far as coding it in XHTML and CSS but I'm thinking about going back to Photoshop and coming up with another design. The coding part of it came out great (it even passed the W3C validator!). I'd feel more comfortable if I had a backup design.

The next step (although not too difficult) will be to implement all of the Movable Type code so that my entries and such come out the way they should. The code can get a little tricky sometimes but nothing to worry about. The only thing I'm debating is whether to utilize the Twitter section. I really don't use Twitter all that much but it's cool to have that feed functionality there.

In terms of a launch date, I'm really not sure yet. I could probably launch it now but if I do come up with an alternate design, I might have to push it till another time. With the primary design, I could probably have the new files uploaded by the end of the week.

So, that's it! Once everything is done, I'm going to make a concerted effort to update this blog on a regular basis. It's probably best that I should, just to make all this effort worthwhile.

Until next time...

This was a move that they HAD to make (or at least one of the moves). After the injury to Billy Wagner late last season, the Mets were without a bonafide closer to close out their games, and in some cases, cost them some wins. There were other options out there for them to pursue but Rodriguez was their best choice and now they (pretty much) have him.

In my opinion, the Mets probably bluffed their way into signing Rodriguez by making offers to other potential players, thereby forcing K-Rod's hand into discussing his contract. That's a pretty bold on the Mets' part but in the end, it worked.

K-Rod's statistics are rather good. Just last season, he saved 62 games out of 69 opportunities, which is almost 90% of the games. He had 68.1 IP, 54 H, 17 ER, 34 BB, 77 K with an ERA 2.24. For all you fantasy baseball people out there, that's a WHIP of 1.29 (career WHIP is 1.11), which is still pretty good.

All in all, he's a good player and his arrival couldn't have come at a better time!
